The first sport to ever hit a professional status in the United States is baseball. Today, baseball is watched, followed, and played by millions of Americans all across the country. Derek Jeter was part of the Yankees reign, which brought the team four World Series titles from 1996 to 2000. He debuted professionally in 1995 for the Yankees, and has been a player for them ever since. In this time, Jeter has obtained 10 All Star selections and numerous MVP titles and other awards. His jersey is also the same as that of Alex Rodriguez, and sells just as hot as well. Jeter is currently the player with the fifth highest batting average among the active players. He is also the 74th player to hit 2600 times. At the same time, he hit his 1500th run, the fourth Yankee in history.
